Prince Louis Makes Historic Easter Appearance at Windsor

The youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles, attended the annual Easter service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on April 5. It marked his first public appearance at the service since 2023 and the first in three years, after the family withdrew from public events following Catherine, Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnosis.

A Sweet Grandfather‑Grandson Moment

King Charles greeted Louis with an affectionate embrace, a gesture that captured worldwide attention and underscored the monarch’s new role as a grandfather. Photographs showed the 7‑year‑old in a navy suit with a light‑blue tie, beaming as the King knelt to meet him.

Breaking Tradition

Louis also made headlines by wearing trousers instead of the customary shorts that young royal boys have worn for centuries. His older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, similarly upgraded their attire, signalling a subtle shift in royal protocol for children of the new generation.

Family Unity

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince William and Kate Middleton were also present, joining the royal family for the first public outing since Christmas. The appearance was widely described as a reaffirmation of continuity within the monarchy as it navigates personal challenges and public expectations.

The Easter service, attended by senior royals including Princess Anne and Prince Edward, provided a rare glimpse of the younger generation’s growing presence on the public stage.
