Raw Farm Cheddar Cheese Recalled Amid E. coli Outbreak

Recall expands nationwide

The California‑based Raw Farm LLC has issued a voluntary recall of its raw‑milk cheddar cheeses after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration linked the products to a multistate outbreak of Escherichia coli. Nine people in California, Florida and Texas have fallen ill, three of them hospitalized.

Products affected

The recall covers original‑flavor and jalapeño cheddar sold in 8‑ and 16‑ounce blocks and in shredded form. All units bear expiration dates from May through September 2026 and were produced after Jan. 4, 2026.

Company’s stance

Raw Farm is recalling the cheese “under protest,” maintaining that no testing has shown contamination and disputing the FDA’s conclusion. Nonetheless, the firm is pulling the batches from shelves as a precaution.

What consumers should do

Consumers who purchased the cheese should discard it or return it to the retailer for a full refund. The CDC urges washing any surfaces that may have contacted the product.
